Life's irritations

Some of those irritations you can't do anything about. Take for example, co-workers who don't work. Oh, don't get me wrong - there are days when I spend the majority of my time fuckin' around on the 'net, but the difference here is: I DON'T HAVE ANYTHING TO DO and all the work that needs to be done IS DONE. The co-workers I'm referring to are the ones who have plenty to do - or are behind on their work - yet they continue to spend their work hours chatting online, talking on the phone to their friends and just general crap other than doing their work (right Viv?). These people are the bane to any place of employment. They are at their jobs for a paycheck only and don't care if they get any real work done. My thoughts to these people: go home and let someone who will DO the job have it. There are plenty of people out there right now who are desperately looking for a job and will actually do what they are hired to do.

Trust

It's one of the most important things in a relationship. But what happens when that trust is broken? Is it possible to continue on in the relationship as before? What if it is broken again? How long can you continue with someone who doesn't seem to be trustworthy? And what about honesty? Usually honesty accompanies trust, so if one isn't trustworthy - one isn't honest. How do you deal with such a person - especially when they tell you (again) that it will never happen again? How long should you continue to have a person like that in your life?

Okay...

I cheated a little today. I had a clove cigarette. And really, it tasted nasty as hell - and no, I didn't finish it. And it isn't really cheating - it isn't a real cigarette after all - but I'm still considering it cheating. Such is life, and now I'm just going to start over again.

Thought about emailing this but fuck it...

I like this joke and those of you who REALLY know me, will know why:

An elderly Italian man lay dying in his bed. While suffering the agonies of impending death, he suddenly smelled the aroma of his favorite Italian anisette sprinkle cookies wafting up the stairs.

He gathered his remaining strength, and lifted himself from the bed. Leaning against the wall, he slowly made his way out of the bedroom, and with even greater effort, gripping the railing with both hands, he crawled downstairs. With labored breath, he leaned against the door frame, gazing into the kitchen.

Where if not for death's agony, he would have thought himself already in heaven, for there, spread out upon waxed paper on the kitchen table were literally hundreds of his favorite anisette sprinkled cookies. Was it heaven? Or was it one final act of heroic love from his devoted Italian wife of sixty years, seeing to it that he left this world a happy man?

Mustering one great final effort, he threw himself towards the table, landing on his knees in a crumpled posture. His parched lips parted, the wondrous taste of the cookie was already in his mouth, seemingly bringing him back to life. The aged and withered hand trembled on its way to a cookie at the edge of the table, when it was suddenly smacked with a spatula by his wife......

"Back off!" she said, "They're for the funeral."

{Sounds like something I'd do!}

Here's hoping today will be better...

Last night I felt the first real stage of withdrawl symptoms - violence. It didn't matter what the hubby said or did, it was wrong and all I wanted to do was put a screwdriver through his eye. Yeah, lucky for him that stage is wearing off. Now, I feel fine and the only time I really 'wanted' a cig at all is after dinner - but that is just habit and will fade with time - and now I just need to get through the rest of today.

On a different note, I wish I could hop in my car and just drive down to Corpus next month (you know why Trac), but unless a miracle happens and we can afford the time off and such, it won't happen. Maybe we'll get lucky and hit the lottery. $22 million would make at least all my problems disappear and could go a long way in helping other people's problems.

3 to go...

Only 3 more left, *sniff, sniff.* It's like saying good-bye to an old friend. I've been smoking for 21 years. And if I think about the amount of money I've spent over those years on cigs instead of saving it, it's mind blowing. I could have had a V-8! (engine in my Volvo, that is!)

**WARNING: BITCH ALERT**

I have in my hands the last pack of cigarettes I will ever smoke. I've had enough of smoking and I'm done. What does this mean for some of you? Increase in bitchiness for a while (but it will eventually go back to my normal bitchiness), no more smoking in the car or house (back to the laundry room for you guys!), and a very long trip in the van to D.C. :)

Anyone else want to join in on the fun - Mike, Todd, Tom? :D

The trip in a nut shell

There were plenty of pics taken and when I get some time this week, they'll be uploaded onto the online photos section for your perusal. We left Sat. morning and stopped in Brunswick, GA for the night - we probably could have made it further, but we couldn't check in at the timeshare until Sunday anyway.

Sunday: Checked in and headed over to the Magic Kingdom. Picked up our tickets, which thanks to their "free military and discount military family" tickets, cost less than half of what the tickets should have been. (This was really the main reason we went in the first place!) Cruised most of Magic Kingdom in just a few hours. No long lines anywhere. The beauty of going during the unofficial "off season" time.

Monday: Time for MGM Studios. The Tower of Terror was fun but nauseating - both Tony and I will not ride it again. But the Rockin' Roller Coaster - presented by AEROSMITH! - was the best ride in all four parks. (We hit it twice) You go from 0 to 60 mph in 2.8 seconds - doesn't get any better than that! :) The rest of the park was fun, and they are the only ones that had a Villian Store - where we picked up the infamous Si and Am from Lady and the Tramp. Though personally, I don't consider them villians, they're just cats and act like it. ;)

Tuesday: It was hot and we needed some relief, so off of Blizzard Beach. Your typical water park, but with a plummet from 120' high - which believe me, I will never do again. Steve loved it of course, but fearing heights as I do, yeah, my last words before doing it was "SHIT!"

Wednesday: Universal Studios & Islands of Adventure. Yes, you can do both parks in one day - there were hardly any lines anywhere. Universal was worse than I had expected - especially with the Jaws ride down for maintenence. But the Twister exhibit was cool and the MIB ride was fun. Lunch at Hard Rock - and the pick up of our ever growing collection of Hard Rock shot glasses. Then on to Islands of Adventure. Best ride - The Hulk. It starts like a normal coaster, slow ride to the top, then it just stops. We all thought the ride had broken down, but boy were we wrong! The stop lasted all of about 30 seconds or so, then BAM, off like a rocket! Too cool, really. And let me inform you - their water ride? Yeah, you WILL GET SOAKED. From head to toe - not your normal log flume ride.

Thursday: Animal Kingdom - the other park I was looking forward to. Much better than anticipated, but then again, I like animals. The Tree of Life is really, really cool and be sure to check out the pics of it when I get them up. The safari was fun, with a couple of great shots there. Didn't get to see the lions - they're cats and of course, sleeping - and only got to see the black rhinos ass - but did see the rest of the animals. The tiger pacing under the window in one exhibit - see photo when up - looked like he was ready to munch on the people on the other side of the glass. :)

Friday: Epcot and the final day. Mission: Space is THE COOLEST RIDE! Just a simulator - but man - what a simulation! 4 G's when lifting off and a second or two of actual weightlessness. A must do if you ever go there. Hit that one twice too. The new Test Track by GM was a disappointment. The short wait in line was more interesting than the ride itself. Though it looks like it went pretty fast, it never got faster than 65 mph, which I do faster on the highway. Save yourself the trouble of this ride and rent a convertible and drive it down the highway - same thing.

We left Friday night - making it to Brunswick, GA again by midnight or so. We really wanted to get back on Saturday, just to give us a day of rest on Sunday before heading back to work on Monday. Glad we did, since now I have too much work to do and not enough time in the day! :) And for those who I know I owe emails to, I'm getting to them slowly! :)

OH!

Someone please remind me on dinner Thurs to tell you the story of the "snow plants."

Shit, had to come home....

We had a fab-u-lous time in Disney! Managed to get a little sun and not sunburnt, saw almost everything I wanted to see, but missed Jeff's b-day (Sorry hon!!!). Didn't get to see the brother, but that's okay. Just makes it so I have to go back that much sooner! Of course, now work is horrid, with too many phone calls and other shit to do to have much time to blog, so there will be more info coming tomorrow - if not later tonight.

P.S. Both Tony and Darrell snore too loudly - but especially Darrell!! :)

This is it...

Tomorrow morning - at approximately 6am - we'll be on the road to Disney Wold. YEAH! I've been looking forward to this vacation since May. And boy do I need this vacation too. I just need to get the hell out of Dodge (not Ford) and relax. No work, no phone, no stress. And this is Darrell and Steve's first visit ever to Disney World. Not that they are nearly excited as I am to go - I used to go every year unti I was 19 - and I love that place. I'm looking forward to seeing the Animal Kingdom and MGM Studios - which were not there when I last went.

And if possible, I may even get to see my brother and sister-in-law, who I haven't seen since my grandmother's funeral in Jan of 2002. And this is the brother I like, so I really do want to see him. :)

How wrong is it?

When your husband decides to fold someone else's laundry, but doesn't help me fold all of our own shit?
